School of the future

This school is funded by Microsoft. So, high
technologies are not strangers to them. Located in Philadelphia, the school
proves that traditional classroom is not needed anymore. Students can have
private tuition and class sessions at their homes. Turn on the computer and
connect to their school’s websites; that is all they have to do. Microsoft
believes that by creating a school that appreciates technologies, they can help
minimizes the uses of paper in the world.

It would also mimic a real-world
workplace schedule with a 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. school day. I think they do so
because they are very focused on training the students to be credible workers
when they have grown up. Naturally, all students are trained in Microsoft
programs, presumably making them good candidates for post-grad employment. What
is really unique to me is that this school envisions an empowered and connected
community where learning is continuous, relevant and adaptive. Truth be told, I
am quite jealous of the students because their future is safe and sound while I
still have to roam around and look for job opportunities. Oh well, what to do.. huhuhu.
